The nutrients in watermelon can improve body functions such as forming collagen and cartilage, absorbing nutrients like iron, and building strong bones and teeth.
Watermelon is also rich in amino acids which help circulate blood throughout the body. These amino acids, particularly citrulline, can help lower blood pressure. Watermelon also can reduce inflammation and oxidative stress. This is due to the presence of antioxidants, lycopene, and vitamin C which all work together to help lower inflammation in the body.
And watermelon also helps you stay hydrated – it’s even got “water” in the name!
