The Dominion Energy Riverrock Festival is a beloved event by the Richmond community. It’s a prime opportunity to showcase the richly historic capital. Held on Brown’s Island along the banks of the James River, the Riverrock Festival celebrates exploring the outdoors.
Slacklining, kayaking, paddle boarding, mountain bike riding, rock climbing and the ultimate air dog’s show are just a few of the headlining events. Thousands of people poured in for the 3-day event filled weekend. The temperature was high and so was the crowd’s energy level. They stood by in awe as they cheered the participants on.
As a supporter of healthy living and active lifestyles, Patient First was truly excited to participate in such a thrilling event. It was awesome to experience Richmond’s scenic outdoor views and witness the adventurous accomplishments of our peers in the community. Thank you to our partners at Dominion Riverrock and we look forward to the excitement that 2023 will bring.
On Saturday, April 30th, sunny skies and light winds were the perfect combination to usher in kite season. The 17th annual Atlantic Coast Kite Festival soared in at the Virginia Beach oceanfront for a two-day, event-filled weekend. This event drew in thousands of people who traveled from near and far to witness colorful kites up to 80 feet in length being flown over the sands. Patient First has been a proud supporter of this event, and we look forward to all the fun next year!
Tuckahoe Elementary School kicked off the season with their annual Spring Fling. Patient First hosted the Kooky Clinic, which was a big hit for the students. Several kids lined up at the Patient First tent to receive bandages, wraps, slings and fake blood to make their imitation injuries look real. And just like any other day, a few of our awesome team members from the Colonial Heights center jumped right in to take care of them.
Other fun stations set up for the kids included a petting zoo, axe throwing, bounce houses, cake walks, a trolley train, as well as food, music, and so much more. The PTA did an awesome job of putting the event together to make it a memorable moment for the kids. And to top it all off, the weather was perfect! What an awesome day for the Tuckahoe community! We had a blast and look forward to seeing you all next year.
Spring has sprung, and outside activities have begun! The City of Newport News hosted their first annual Spring Eggstravaganza at King Lincoln Park in Newport News, Virginia. From Easter Egg hunts, a petting zoo, bounce houses, to face painting, and a hot air balloon, there were so many things for the kids to do. Even the Easter Bunny made a special guest appearance!
Patient First was proud to participate in such a fun event that supported the children and families in the community. We look forward to seeing what next year brings!
The Annual Dog Jog and 5K Run tends to bring out several hundred people and their pups. Despite the chilly and windy weather conditions on Saturday, this year was no different. The grounds of the Robins Star Humane Center were packed with people and paws that paraded down Hermitage Road for a family fun event that even non-pet owners could love.
Locals laced up their sneakers and kicked things off with the 5k run, while pups joined later for a one mile walk or jog of their choice. Even the children participated in a quick sprint down Hermitage Road. Patient First, a proud supporter of the SPCA and their mission, was excited to be a part of such a great cause.
