  Dominion Energy Riverrock Festival

  The Dominion Energy Riverrock Festival returned to downtown Richmond for a weekend of action-packed fun! Held on Brown's Island, the festival celebrates the great outdoors while displaying some of the city's most scenic landmarks and natural resources. Over 1,000 people signed up to participate in a number of events, including bike trail races, kayaking, paddle boarding, slack lining, rock climbing, boulder smashing, and so much more! This year, Patient First enjoyed the festival from a prime location in front of the air dogs show. This was filled with riveting acts from dogs all over, who literally leapt at the opportunity to strut their stuff. The crowds cheered on the pups in amazement! The energy was great, and there was a lot of excitement surrounding this multi-day festival that brought out more than 100,000 people.  Patient First truly enjoyed participating in this festival, and we look forward to seeing you all next year!

  EGGS-traordinary Fun at Maymont Park's Dominion Energy Family Easter Event

  This past Saturday brought the return of sunnier skies, warmer temperatures, and Easter activities, signaling Spring is in the air, and here to stay. Egg-cited guests of all ages came by the thousands to enjoy the annual Dominion Energy Family Easter Event at Maymont Park. This event, which has grown by leaps and bounds from year-to-year, was spread out between the Carriage House Lawn to the Robins Nature Center, to Maymont Farm. With over 100 acres to eggs-plore, guests could be seen enjoying fun activities and hands-on crafts throughout the park. They also enjoyed tempting treats from local food vendors as they listened to live entertainment supplied on three different stages. Younger guests were able to win prize-filled eggs in a Golden Egg Hunt, solving riddles along the way to find the locations of where the golden eggs were hidden. Patient First was posted in the middle of all the action, where families and friends gathered by our tent prior to seeing a certain VIP-- the Easter Bunny!   Dominion Energy Christmas Parade

  Making our way downtown on the streets of Richmond, Virginia for the 39th annual Dominion Energy Christmas Parade-- what better way to get you in the holiday spirit than a community coming together to spread a little Christmas cheer! Patient First was excited to be one of 93 parade participants involved this year.  Our wonderful staff came out to volunteer their time and assist with carrying  the giant Abby Cadabby balloon.  Abby is a fairy in training from Sesame Street that was 35 feet long.  This required a bit of determination and a lot of teamwork, especially with an unfavorable forecast. Rain was predicted to begin right before the start of the parade and continue until early afternoon.  With fingers crossed and high hopes for sunshine, the weather did exactly what it said it would.  Parade goers lined the streets with tents, ponchos and umbrellas, cheering us on as we made a splash down the over two mile parade route. Despite the rain, we were still able to have a fun, and memorable experience.  We cannot wait to see what's in store for year ...

  Patient First Gets Into the Holiday Spirit at the 40th Annual Richmond Christmas Parade

  The holiday season got off to a great start in Richmond, VA with the 40th annual Dominion Energy Christmas Parade. This rain or shine event, which is free and open to the public, drew large crowds from near and far who lined up along Broad Street as they eagerly waited for the legendary Santa to make his appearance. The parade began near the Science Museum of Virginia and concluded near the Richmond Coliseum. It included a variety of colorful floats, giant balloons, high school and college marching bands, dance groups, and playful holiday characters, including a particular Grinch whose heart grew three sizes that day. Patient First, who has sponsored and participated in the event for several years now, was given the opportunity to carry the largest balloon in the parade - a 35' Cookie Monster balloon!  With guided direction from the balloon company and perhaps a little Christmas magic, 15 Patient First employees successfully navigated the balloon through city street lights, overhung tree limbs, and power lines.   Richmond Christmas Parade

  Richmond Christmas Parade It was beginning to look a lot like Christmas all down Broad Street on Saturday, December 4th as the 38th Annual Dominion Energy Christmas Parade took place.  Thousands of onlookers flooded the sidewalks to witness the procession down the streets of downtown Richmond.  This year over 20 Patient First employees helped carry the giant Kung Fu Panda balloon as the crowd cheered with excitement.  Although the parade could not take place last year due to the pandemic, that had no effect on the outcome of participation from companies and supporters this year.  An estimated over 200,000 people were in attendance.  People were definitely in the holiday spirit and filled with cheer.  From our family to yours, Patient First would like to wish everyone a Happy Holidays.     Thank you! As the weather and our community event schedule begins to heat up, Patient First would like to recognize and thank all our employees who helped with events over the past year.
