  Patient First Treats Veterans To IronPigs Ball Game

  Without a doubt, every day is a good day to recognize and celebrate our veterans, as well as those who serve or are about to serve in our armed forces. A unique program-- "Operation Send A Vet," put together by the Lehigh Valley IronPigs ball club-- brought more than 2,000 veterans and their families together for the Pigs' home opener on April 4th. Patient First stepped up to the plate to participate in this unique celebration of our military for a second consecutive year, and we were so delighted to be part of the fun! We were present on-site with an information table, giving away items on the ballpark's concourse. In addition, our financial contribution enabled 100 veterans and their families to come out and enjoy the day, capped off by an IronPigs win! We enjoyed so many conversations with both "old-timer" vets and new enlistees, while providing free blood pressure checks on-site, and distributing a variety of our give-away items.   Wilson Baseball and Softball Coach Says Thanks "Thank you Patient First! Wilson baseball and softball has had a long relationship with Patient First back to 2017, and we have so appreciated the sponsorship support over the years. I am a coach, and “sports dad” to a Little League, boy (Cayden) and a softball girl (Sofia). My wife and I are keenly aware of bumps and bruises that come with active children, and Patient First has served us well over the years. Although we’d prefer to NOT have to visit for obvious reasons. Five years ago before the start of the baseball season, Cayden had a playground injury, and we thought his excitement about playing ball may have ended for the season before it even started. We took him to Patient First in Wyomissing to be checked out, and sure enough, his arm was broken. That didn’t stop him from playing the season. He was quite a trooper and played with no glove and a cast on his arm. The providers and staff at Patient First took good care of him ...

  Lehigh Valley Hot Air Balloon Festival Was "Spooktacular"

  It was a "Spooktacular" weekend for a Hot Air Balloon Festival.  This event has been billed the largest fall laser lit hot air balloon, music and glow festival in North America. It has become a premiere family entertainment attraction in Pennsylvania, specifically the Lehigh Valley. We were so excited to be able to participate in this event for the first time, and hope we will be able to return in 2024. It was great fun to meet and greet so many nice people from near and far. The event drew an enormous crowd - on Saturday, in particular, when the weather was most favorable. People came from all over Pennsylvania from Western and Central PA, to Northeastern PA and the Philadelphia area and its suburbs, and many locations in between. We also had many out of state visitors to our tent, many who have had visits to Patient First in New Jersey, Maryland and Virginia.   Opening Night with Veterans and the Iron Pigs

  Take me out to the Ball Game is a tune closely associated with baseball, and that is exactly what Patient First recently did for 100 Lehigh Valley area veterans and their families as part of our sponsorship of “Operation Send a Vet” promotion with the Iron Pigs baseball club. Other organizations and businesses joined this promotion on Opening Night of the 2022 season, bringing together 2,500 vets and their families to feel our appreciation of servicemen and servicewomen – whether active duty or retired, in the reserves or national guard. It was such an honor to recognize and thank our veterans in such a public and high profile way. More than 7,000 people came out for the game, despite the rainy weather. We did stay dry for an enjoyable “first pitch” opportunity, and it was a first-of-the-season WIN for the Iron Pigs. So, at the end of the night, everyone was a winner!

  Minor League Baseball First Aid

  Minor League Baseball Partnerships Patient First partners with local Minor League Baseball teams to provide first aid services to baseball fans during the 2021 baseball season.  Patient First nurses provide first aid at all Norfolk Tides, Richmond Flying Squirrels, and Bowie Baysox home games. If you require first aid, please top by the first aid station at any of the ball parks.  Or, notify a ballpark official and we will be happy to come to you. Patient First and Minor League Baseball make a great team.

  2023 Lancaster Hot Air Balloon Festival

  One of the most visually dazzling events of this region's event season returned over the weekend in the form of the Lancaster Hot Air Balloon Festival. Held on an expansive field in Bird-In Hand, PA, this 4-day event typically draws crowds by the busloads from as far north as Wisconsin, to as far south as Alabama. As a long-time sponsor of this event, our Patient First tent was placed in a prime position-- right at the edge of the vendor fair, as crowds exited and entered the field to witness the nightly balloon glow event, and scheduled balloon ascensions. We also sponsored the festival's corn maze, as well as one of the balloons launched daily. Sadly, the evening winds were just a tad too strong to allow for an evening ascension, but the morning ascensions did go off as planned. In addition to a wide variety of food, games, live entertainment that included bands, magicians, and character shows, this year's festival offered a new feature-- helicopter rides!
