  Patient First Gets Into the Holiday Spirit at the 40th Annual Richmond Christmas Parade

  The holiday season got off to a great start in Richmond, VA with the 40th annual Dominion Energy Christmas Parade. This rain or shine event, which is free and open to the public, drew large crowds from near and far who lined up along Broad Street as they eagerly waited for the legendary Santa to make his appearance. The parade began near the Science Museum of Virginia and concluded near the Richmond Coliseum. It included a variety of colorful floats, giant balloons, high school and college marching bands, dance groups, and playful holiday characters, including a particular Grinch whose heart grew three sizes that day. Patient First, who has sponsored and participated in the event for several years now, was given the opportunity to carry the largest balloon in the parade - a 35' Cookie Monster balloon!  With guided direction from the balloon company and perhaps a little Christmas magic, 15 Patient First employees successfully navigated the balloon through city street lights, overhung tree limbs, and power lines.   Patient First Celebrates First Responders in Berks County, PA

  Red Knights PA Chapter 10 is a motorcycle club comprised of past and present firefighters and their families who are devoted to helping their fellow First Responders in a variety of ways. They organized their inaugural Berks County Firefighter Appreciation Day, and invited Patient First to be part of the celebration. What an honor it was to stand with so many first responders – fire, ambulance, police and more in a day of appreciation – heroes just like those of us who work in the medical profession during these challenging, pandemic times. This was a family-friendly event … and we interacted with families of all ages. There were about a dozen fire trucks with their crews on site, several EMS/Ambulance providers … and even a medical helicopter flew in and stayed for a few hours. The event provided demonstrations of a vehicle extraction, and extinguishing a vehicle fire – both fascinating to view, and educational.   Patient First Proudly Supports Youth Sports Patient First promotes active, healthy lifestyles and one of the many ways we demonstrate this is through our youth sponsorships each year. When sports moms and dads along with their families and friends are out enjoying Little League games throughout the area, they’ll frequently see a Patient First banner on the ballpark fence, or even our name on player jerseys.  As a sponsor, it is especially great to be invited out to meet and interact with the ball players and their friends and families on a game day. We got to do just that during “Opening Day” activities for the West Deptford, New Jersey Little League near our Woodbury center. As was to be anticipated, there was lots of excitement, commotion and activity among the young ball players, and their families and friends, and it was great fun to be a part of all the energy.  Folks were so appreciative of our sponsorship, and were excited to say “thank you,” and we were so happy to be there.   Patient First sponsors Devon Horse Show’s “Itty Bitty Hat Parade”

  The “Itty Bitty Hat Parade” at Devon Horse Show & County Fair returned this year, and Patient First was thrilled to be a sponsor once again. This has become a favorite event since it all takes place at the fairgrounds located directly across the street from Patient First’s Devon center. Patient First staff made things extra fun by hosting a table where children enjoyed special horse-themed coloring sheets, while their moms and dads learned more about Patient First’s model and services. At the end of the day, a giant hat parade through the Fairgrounds gave the children the opportunity to show off their newly-decorated hats. It was so fun to see them carry the parade banner as they toured the grounds, past the horses and the amusement and food areas.  As usual, this big event attracted families and children from near and far. Parents were very gracious and happy, and many talked about great experiences they have had at the Devon Center which always make us feel good.

  Patient First Participates in a Bethlehem Blueberry Tradition

  A delicious “Blueberry Festival” tradition in Bethlehem, PA returned to celebrate its 35th milestone anniversary this year, and we were part of the festivities for the first time this year. Held over a two-day weekend at the historic Burnside Plantation — site of an 18th-century Moravian farm complete with historic barns, a Colonial kitchen garden, a pollinator garden, and an apple orchard, and affectionately known as Bethlehem’s “Farm in the City” — the annual celebration provided participants with a variety of ways to enjoy all things blueberry. We had such a fun weekend representing our Lehigh Valley centers in Allentown, Bethlehem and Easton and talking with event participants about how we take care of people when they are sick or injured with non-emergency medical issues. Proceeds from this event will benefit Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites to maintain 20 historic landmarks, and Patient First is proud to support such worthwhile community activities.

  Patient First Recognized with Community Healthcare Hero Award

  Patient First Recognized with Community Healthcare Hero Award  On July 26th, 2021, the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce celebrated first responders, citizens and the healthcare community for going above the call of duty at the 36th Annual Loudoun Valor Awards.  Michelle Marsh, from 7News DC was the emcee of the event.  Patient First one of the healthcare businesses of Loudoun County recognized with the “Community Healthcare Hero Award” for their work during the COVID-19 pandemic. Other healthcare businesses that were recognized were: Inova Hospital, HCA Healthcare, LMG Doctors, and Loudoun Free Clinic.
