The time has finally come – the COVID-19 lockdown is loosening its grip on our lives, and things are starting to return to normal – or at least somewhat! While it may be a long transition, some may be facing anxiety as things pick back up where we left off so many months ago. We get it! That anxiety is totally normal, and we’ve got tips to help you manage that stress that may be coming your way.
There’s no reason you have to rush back into things. Sure, you can go to your favorite restaurant if you want, but it’s also still fine to want to order in. Don’t feel like because everything is opened that you need to rush out and accomplish all you’ve been wanting to do but couldn’t over the last year. No one says you have to hop right back into your social calendar events – just do what makes you comfortable!!
Just because state or local officials state that it is now safe to not wear a mask if you are fully vaccinated – it’s totally up to you! If you are still worried about contracting COVID-19, you are free to still wear your mask when you are inside, outside, or in close proximity to other people. It is still fine, and even encouraged, to practice social distancing and other preventive measures like good hand hygiene. Do whatever makes you most comfortable!
Don’t feel pressured to attend social events or large gatherings if you’re not comfortable! People will understand if you choose to skip the event in favor of your own health. Be open with your concerns and stressors, and speak with a professional if you feel like you are having difficulties adjusting on your own. And don’t forget that everyone else is trying to deal with the transition back to normal too, so if you’re struggling – definitely reach out! It’s all about making yourself comfortable with communication during this time!
Did you happen to notice a recurring theme in our tips? It’s all about what makes you comfortable! YOU decide how quickly you get back to the normal and routine things in your life. Manage what you can, and let the rest trickle back in on its own!
