Patient First Portal Instructions

NOTICE: You must have a Patient First Portal account in order to view and/or transmit your lab results and visit information. Access to the Patient First Portal is currently limited to patients who are 18 years of age or older.

 

How to Set Up a Patient First Portal Account

  1. All first-time Patient First Patients are given a Portal Activation Code during registration. For security purposes, if you misplace your code, you must visit a center in person to retrieve your code.
  2. Go to portal.patientfirst.com. Under “First Time Here?” enter your activation code and your date of birth.
  3. Follow the easy steps to set up your secure Patient Portal account and create your Username and Password.

How to Log In To the Patient First Portal

  1. Go to portal.patientfirst.com.
  2. Under “Returning User?” enter your Username and Password.
  3. Forgotten usernames and/or passwords are easily recoverable through the Portal log-in screen.
  4. Click “Log In”.

How to View Your Lab Result

  1. Log in to the Patient First Portal.
  2. Click on “View Your Medical Visits & Lab Results”.
  3. Your visits are listed in reverse chronological order. Click on the visit during which you had the test.
  4. If your lab result(s) has been received, “Labs” will appear as a menu option. Click on it to expand the menu and view your result(s).
  5. You may also access your test result via the portal of the reference lab that performed your test.

How to Send Your Lab Result or Lab Result Plus Visit Information to an Employer, School, or Other Entity 

  1. Log in to the Patient First Portal.
  2. While viewing the visit during which you had the test (instructions above), Click “Transmit” at the top of your screen.
  3. You will be asked to select a transmission method. Select “Secure and Encrypted Email – Recommended” and click “OK”.
  4. Select what data you want to send: “Send only lab results,” or “Send lab results with full visit information.” Click “OK”.
  5. A PDF of the information that you will be sending will appear in your browser. Review it and confirm that this is the data you wish to send. If so, click “CONFIRM”.
  6. Enter the email address of the recipient. The Subject and Message fields contain pre-filled text, which you may add to if you like. Click “Send Email”.
  7. A secure email will be sent to the recipient with a PDF attachment containing your lab result or your lab result plus visit information.
