  Patient First Sponsors Bowie Baysox

  It was a beautiful day with perfect weather for a baseball game on a Friday night in the city of Bowie, Maryland. Hundreds of families gathered on June 17 for a night out for baseball, food and fun at the Prince George’s County Stadium in Bowie, Maryland. Staff from Patient First came out to engage with the public by handing out promotional items and spoke about services that Patient First offers. We even snagged a picture with the Bowie team mascot. Patient First is a proud sponsor of the Bowie Baysox baseball team. As a sponsor, Patient First nurses staff the First Aid station at every home game. Go Bowie Baysox! We look forward to supporting more games this season!

  Patient First sponsors Devon Horse Show’s “Itty Bitty Hat Parade”

  The “Itty Bitty Hat Parade” at Devon Horse Show & County Fair returned this year, and Patient First was thrilled to be a sponsor once again. This has become a favorite event since it all takes place at the fairgrounds located directly across the street from Patient First’s Devon center. Patient First staff made things extra fun by hosting a table where children enjoyed special horse-themed coloring sheets, while their moms and dads learned more about Patient First’s model and services. At the end of the day, a giant hat parade through the Fairgrounds gave the children the opportunity to show off their newly-decorated hats. It was so fun to see them carry the parade banner as they toured the grounds, past the horses and the amusement and food areas.  As usual, this big event attracted families and children from near and far. Parents were very gracious and happy, and many talked about great experiences they have had at the Devon Center which always make us feel good.

  Patient First Celebrates First Responders in Berks County, PA

  Red Knights PA Chapter 10 is a motorcycle club comprised of past and present firefighters and their families who are devoted to helping their fellow First Responders in a variety of ways. They organized their inaugural Berks County Firefighter Appreciation Day, and invited Patient First to be part of the celebration. What an honor it was to stand with so many first responders – fire, ambulance, police and more in a day of appreciation – heroes just like those of us who work in the medical profession during these challenging, pandemic times. This was a family-friendly event … and we interacted with families of all ages. There were about a dozen fire trucks with their crews on site, several EMS/Ambulance providers … and even a medical helicopter flew in and stayed for a few hours. The event provided demonstrations of a vehicle extraction, and extinguishing a vehicle fire – both fascinating to view, and educational. There were also many events and activities/contests geared just for the firefighters, so it was fun to watch them compete and cheer them on in races and ...

  Patient First Sponsors Bowie Fest in Bowie, MD

  On Saturday, June 4, more than 20,000 people gathered for the annual Bowie Fest in Bowie, MD. For 45 years, Bowie has celebrated this family-friendly tradition, returning this year with over 200 local vendors to the peaceful Allen Pond Park. This year, Bowie Fest included three stages of entertainment by local entertainers. Other activities included paddle boating, face painting and an arts and crafts area. Around the pond, participants could enjoy and sample food from area vendors. Patient First was a sponsor of the event and Kid’s stage. The Patient First Kid’s stage featured African drum songs, stories, games, Animals of Maryland, Caribbean Influenced Children’s song and a Magic Show. Staff from the Bowie Patient First enjoyed interacting with event attendees.  Several of the event attendees who stopped by our table were complimentary of the services they received and took time to say thank you for the care they received from our doctors, nurses and support staff. We are already looking forward to next year’s event.

  Patient First Sponsors Community Youth Advance 5k Run

  Since 2018, Community Youth Advance has hosted an annual “A Mother’s Love 5K Run” that has brought families out from all across the Greater DC region for a fun and engaging 5K to promote health, wellness and community. Community Youth Advance is dedicated to advancing the academic, social, and career opportunities of boys and girls by providing them and their families, with academic enrichment, mentorship, college prep assistance and access to career training. Community Youth Advance provides comprehensive educational and character-based programming for students in grades K-12. More than 200 participants gathered on Saturday, May 14 from all over the Greater DC region for the 5k run. After the run there was music, games, entertainment and a photo booth for participants to enjoy.  Patient First, a proud supporter of Community Youth Advance and their mission to help youth in the community, was excited to be a part of such a great cause.

  Patient First Sponsors Ashburn Village Kids Triathlon

  It was a beautiful day with perfect weather for a youth triathlon on a Saturday morning in Ashburn, Virginia. Hundreds of youth athletes from the ages 6 to 15 gathered in the Ashburn community for the multisport race which included swimming in the Lakes Rec Center outdoor pool, biking around the neighborhood, and running on a marked course starting and ending at The Lakes Rec Center. As the participants finished the race, they all received a ribbon and were congratulated by their family and friends. Staff from Patient First came out to engage with the public by handing out promotional items and spoke about services that Patient First offers. We even snagged a picture at the finish line. The entire event was a great success and our staff had great engagement and interactions with attendees.
