Patient First 40th Anniversary

Forty years ago, Patient First’s distinctive green roof first appeared on the outskirts of Richmond, Virginia. The idea was simple, yet novel:  to provide friendly, convenient, and cost-effective medical care, without an appointment, for 14 hours a day, every day of the year. Since first opening in 1981, Patient First has gradually expanded to 77 medical centers in four states, now providing urgent and primary care throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.

As we celebrate our 40th Anniversary, we reflect upon the things for which we are grateful.

We are grateful to our patients for their trust in us. We appreciate all those familiar faces who have turned to us for medical care over many years. We also appreciate the new friendly faces who walk into our doors for the first time.

Now, we look to the next 40 years. We commit ourselves to providing the same level of expert care that our patients have come to know and expect. And to deliver that care in a warm, welcoming environment.

Patient First medical centers are proud to remain open 8am to 8 pm,  every day of the year.  Our physicians provide non-appointment urgent care for routine injuries and illnesses, primary care for patients who do not have a regular physician, and Telehealth services. Each Patient First center has on-site digital x-ray, on-site laboratory, and on-site prescription drugs.
