It was the dog days of autumn this past Saturday, as our multi-event partnership with the BARCS animal shelter in Baltimore concluded for the year with our first-ever participation in their 21st Annual BARCStoberfest. This event filled a large portion of Baltimore’s massive Patterson Park with a 5k run, a beer garden, games and entertainment, and a vendor village– all of which was family and pet friendly!
The event saw a massive attendance, as people and their pets enjoyed an absolutely beautiful fall day in the park! Plenty of people stopped by our tent to share their positive experiences from visits to our Bayview, Catonsville, Glen Burnie, Perry Hall, Pasadena, Towson, and Lutherville centers. They also thanked us for helping sponsor the work that BARCS does in treating and re-homing abandoned and abused pets in the greater Baltimore area.
In addition to the live music and games, one of the most popular events of the day was the Howl-O-Ween Costume Contest, which drew big crowds and even bigger laughs. There was also a pet parade that stretched through the park to the delight of attendees. It was a great time, and we can’t wait to be a part of it next year!
