BARCS Big Dog Adoption Weekend

On May 30^th & 31^st, Patient First renewed its commitment to BARCS, the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter with the first of three events this year. The Big Dog Adoption Weekend saw Patient First cover the adoption fees for all animals adopted on both days. This event has generated a great amount of publicity and goodwill each year we do it, and 2026 was no exception!

Once again, our table was set up right by the entrance, allowing us to interact with everyone as they came in. Everyone we spoke with was grateful for our participation, and said that our sponsorship was the impetus for them to come to the shelter this weekend! Everyone was familiar with our centers, having been patients from the Glen Burnie, Perry Hall, Bayview, Pasadena, and Catonsville centers, just to name a few.

This year, we’re happy to report that 57 matches were made on Saturday, and 29 more on Sunday!

The folks at BARCS have been great partners with us over the years. Their social media platforms have been great with giving us credit for our sponsorship, and getting our name mentioned on TV newscasts that promote their adoption events.

We look forward to working with BARCS again for our other two projects this fall!
