2026 DLA Summerfest

On Thursday, July 2^nd, Patient First was once again invited to return to the DLA Distribution Base in Susquehanna, PA for the 2026 Summerfest! This annual event gives the hard-working staff at DLA Susquehanna and their families a welcome break from their tireless work serving as the storage and supply line for every branch of our armed forces, and a chance to honor their service.

This year, Summerfest was scheduled to tie into the 250^th anniversary of our independence, allowing the celebration to culminate in a spectacular fireworks show that lit up the night! Despite starting the evening under sweltering 100 degree temperatures, by sunset, a relieving breeze allowed the event to end on a much milder note.

With several hundred people turning out to enjoy the festivities, nearly everyone we spoke with had been patients (in most cases, more times than they cared to count), at either our Harrisburg or Mechanicsburg centers. With the base being situated equidistantly between the two centers, that stood to reason. Every single person relayed the wonderful, professional, and impressive experiences they had regarding their treatment. We also frequently heard how our table had the best promotional items among the participating sponsors—a frequent kudos we hear throughout the year!

The base commander and his staff came by our tent to personally thank us for our continued support of this event, which we’ve now done for a fourth consecutive year. We thanked them for what they do in support of the men and women serving in uniform around the globe. This is always a very gratifying and fun event to be a part of, and we look forward to coming back for next Summerfest!
