Not even the rain, chill, and blustery (and at times dangerous) winds could dampen the spirits of the thousands of people who turned out to support the noble work of the Ronald McDonald House in Baltimore on Sunday for the 15th Red Shoe Shuffle.
This year’s event, which helps funds the Ronald McDonald House’s mission of providing housing- sometimes for months at a time- for out of town families while their children undergo life-saving treatments at area hospitals broke multiple records. Not only did more than 3,000 people sign up to run, stroll, or walk in the 5k event, those determined Shufflers raised nearly $500,000 on the day!
This is the third year that Patient First has been a Red Sneaker sponsor of the event, allowing us to be a part of the Celebration Village. Our staff spoke with patients who had visited from as far south as Virginia, and as far north as our Aberdeen center. Everyone we met had glowing reviews of the care they received at our centers, and were thrilled to see that we were there sponsoring the cause.
Nuestro personal se sintió honrado de formar parte de este día de celebración, destinado a dar esperanza y amor a las familias cuando más lo necesitan, ¡y sin duda esperamos mantener este evento en nuestro programa en los años venideros!
