From May 15th through May 17th, Patient First had the opportunity to take part in this year’s annual Monsters on the Beach event. This was the perfect weekend for the event, which took up four blocks of the Virginia Beach Waterfront, with nothing but warm weather and not a cloud in the sky. That being the case, the stands and overarching hotel balconies were jam packed with community members and out-of-towners alike for the entirety of the sold-out shows. Spectators even huddled together near the entrance gates to catch a peek of all the thrills and excitement.
All taking place on the beach’s waterfront, the main course for the event was primarily composed of sand dunes and pikes, with the addition of junk cars and even school buses. Among the highlights of weekend were several competitions, including amateur 4×4 Tuff Truck exhibitions, monster truck rides, and monster trucks competing to be named “King of the Beach”.
Aside from the main attractions, some of our team members, along with a host of other vendors and exhibitors lined the broad walk from 4th to 8th Street. Patient First’s tent was stationed right outside of the main entrance to the stands, allowing for a lot of great engagement with attendees and tourists passing by. We were able to connect with many individuals who were unfamiliar with Patient First as well as existing patients. During numerous conversations with attendees, we received praise regarding our efficiency and pleasant office environment.
Throughout the event, we conducted a number of free blood pressure checks. That is, when the roars of those monstrous trucks and screams from the crowd allowed us! At the end of the day, our team enjoyed the opportunity to connect with the community we serve.
