On Saturday, February 21st, our Patient First staff returned to the STAR Centre in Havre De Grace for the 4th annual Havre De Grace Ice Festival. This was our third year being part of this event, which is just six miles from our Aberdeen center. People were treated to a wide array of food trucks, stage entertainment, community and craft vendors, a raptor bird show, live ice sculpting, and the night capped off with an ice show inside the STAR Centre—a skating version of the Wizard of Oz! They dropped a massive, temporary ice rink onto the facility’s theatrical stage to put on the show!
This year, our table was positioned right at the mouth of the main entrance, allowing us to meet and talk with everyone as they walked in. There wasn’t a single person there who hadn’t either heard of, or visited a Patient First! We spoke with patients from the Aberdeen center, the Bel Air center, as well as folks from the Towson, Perry Hall, Lutherville, and Catonsville centers. We also heard from people in nearby Cecil County and in Delaware, who were familiar with us, and would love to see us set up shop in their neighborhoods!
This event has become a fun way to launch into our community calendar. The organizers at the STAR Centre are hosting several interesting events this year, and we look forward to future partnerships with them!
