What do I do if I have symptoms of COVID-19?

Common symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, congestion/sneezing, and shortness of breath.

High-risk conditions - If you have symptoms of COVID-19 and have a high-risk condition, like being 65 or older; or have asthma, lung disease, diabetes, or high blood pressure or are pregnant, call your doctor to let him or her know.

Serious symptoms - If you have trouble breathing, persistent pain or pressure in the chest, confusion, difficulty waking up, bluish lips or face, call 911 or go to the closest Emergency Room right away.

Mild symptoms - If you have a mild fever or cough, you may have COVID-19. Most people have mild illness and are able to recover at home. Monitor your symptoms.

  • Stay home except to get medical care.
  • Separate yourself from others in your home.
  • Wear a face mask, if possible.
  • Cover your mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
  • Clean your hands often with soap and water.
  • Avoid sharing personal household items.
  • Clean all 'high-touch' surfaces every day.
  • Get tested for COVID-19 at any Patient First Center.
