  Baltimore County Public Safety Day

  If you grew up liking police and emergency rescue shows like Adam-12, Emergency! SWAT, Chicago Fire, or 911, then the parking lot adjacent to Martin State Airport in the Perry Hall area was the place to be for this year's Baltimore County Public Safety Day. Police, fire, EMS and other public safety agencies trotted out their latest equipment for display, as well as providing an opportunity to meet the men and women who protect and serve our community, under less dire circumstances. This was Patient First's first year participating in this event, which was located just eight miles from our Perry Hall center. Our tent and table were dead center in the in the heart of the crowds. While there were a few folk who had not visited our centers, most of those who came by knew exactly who we were, and had wonderful stories to share about the service and care we had provided them.   The Air Show Returns to Hampton Roads!

  NAS Oceana Naval Base opened their gates to the public this past weekend, as the highly anticipated Air Show returned to Hampton Roads.  The multitude of people that visited the base during this 2 day event could attest to the amount of excitement that was in the air.  Several vendors and food trucks were assembled along the flight line, accompanied by many service men and women who patrolled the area.  From the flight demonstration team to the jump team and jet trucks, there was so much to see and enjoy.  And of course the riveting performance of the Blue Angels concluded what was already an exceptional show! This year's theme paid tribute to 50 years of women in naval aviation.  Since "The First Six" earned their wings of gold, these female pioneers went on to pave the way for so many to follow.  Over the years women have grown to assume numerous roles in aviation.  Their positions play an integral part in strengthening and protecting our nation and are worthy of recognition.   Chesapeake Bay Hot Air Balloon Festival

  Thousands of people were looking to the skies in the fields of Delta, Pennsylvania this weekend. It wasn't because of some crop circle phenomena, but because of the Chesapeake Bay Hot Air Balloon Festival. Typically held on Maryland's eastern shore, this year the event was scheduled to be held in Bel Air, Maryland. Just 11 days before the event however, that location was no longer deemed viable by the Harford County Government. So, like any baloon pilot knows, an alternate landing site had to be found, and found fast. Fortunately, the Mason-Dixon Fairgrounds just a dozen miles to the north provided a safe haven for this year's event. Despite the sudden change of venue, tens of thousands turned out for this weekend long event. The vendor fair played host to our table and tent, where people from both PA and MD came by to collect our giveaway items, and tells us how much the appreciated the work our staff does, and the professionalism with which they do it.   Patient First Sponsors National Night Out in Ashburn, VA

  Ashburn Village Association held its annual National Night Out event on Tuesday, August 2 which is in close proximity to our Sterling, Virginia and Leesburg, VA locations. National Night Out is community-police awareness raising event in the United States, held the first Tuesday of August. Hundreds of families gathered for this free events that included ice-cream, moon bounce and touch-a-truck. The Patient First yo-yo’s were a big hit for the kids and adults. The entire event was a great success and our staff had great engagement and interactions with attendees.

  Fairfax Fall Festival

  Fairfax Fall Festival Pumpkin spice, popcorn, and everything nice! Patient First was excited to participate in the 45th annual Fairfax Fall Festival on Saturday, October 9, 2021.  This event took place in downtown Fairfax and featured over 400 craft booths and displays. Back by popular demand was the lumberjack show and interactive lumberjack camps for the children. The Fairfax Fall Festival included a business expo and Touch-a-Truck expo that allowed children to see and explore City of Fairfax work vehicles and equipment. There was a children’s stage that featured singers, dancers, magicians, carnival rides and face painting as well!

  Richmond SPCA 22nd Annual Dog Jog, 5K and Block Party

  Following a week of forecasted rain, wind, and cooler temperatures, two-legged and four-legged friends were finally able to gather on Sunday, March 24th for the Richmond SPCA 22nd Annual Dog Jog, 5K and Block Party. The event, which was originally scheduled to take place all day Saturday, split into a two-day event following heavy rains Saturday morning. Patient First took part in the block party portion of the event. The block party, which was free to attend, kicked off with live music by local cover band, Sold Separately, and featured more than 50 local vendors and artisans, food trucks, a kids’ fun zone, and even a pets’ fun zone allowing for fun activities for everyone to enjoy. Patient First offered free blood pressure screenings and handed out promotional material with information about our services and locations. Funds raised from the event will benefit the more than 18,000 animals served by the Richmond SPCA this year, including approximately 4,000 homeless dogs and cats that the organization shelters and rehabilitates before adoption.
