  Patient First Sponsors Bowie Baysox

  It was a beautiful day with perfect weather for a baseball game on a Friday night in the city of Bowie, Maryland. Hundreds of families gathered on June 17 for a night out for baseball, food and fun at the Prince George’s County Stadium in Bowie, Maryland. Staff from Patient First came out to engage with the public by handing out promotional items and spoke about services that Patient First offers. We even snagged a picture with the Bowie team mascot. Patient First is a proud sponsor of the Bowie Baysox baseball team. As a sponsor, Patient First nurses staff the First Aid station at every home game. Go Bowie Baysox! We look forward to supporting more games this season!

  Patient First Sponsors Bowie Fest in Bowie, MD

  On Saturday, June 4, more than 20,000 people gathered for the annual Bowie Fest in Bowie, MD. For 45 years, Bowie has celebrated this family-friendly tradition, returning this year with over 200 local vendors to the peaceful Allen Pond Park. This year, Bowie Fest included three stages of entertainment by local entertainers. Other activities included paddle boating, face painting and an arts and crafts area. Around the pond, participants could enjoy and sample food from area vendors. Patient First was a sponsor of the event and Kid’s stage. The Patient First Kid’s stage featured African drum songs, stories, games, Animals of Maryland, Caribbean Influenced Children’s song and a Magic Show. Staff from the Bowie Patient First enjoyed interacting with event attendees.  Several of the event attendees who stopped by our table were complimentary of the services they received and took time to say thank you for the care they received from our doctors, nurses and support staff. We are already looking forward to next year’s event.

  Bowie Baysox Family Fun Fest 2024

  While we're on the cusp of the return of the Boys of Summer at Prince George's Stadium, the weekend's weather wasn't exactly summer-like for the return of the Bowie Baysox Family Fun Fest. The event, which is a family-friendly day at the ballpark, and a warm up to the Baysox 2024 season is one in which we've participated for a number of years, as part of our long partnership with the Orioles' minor league affiliate. Our table was positioned at the center of the concourse, directly in front of the First Aid station, which we staff for every Baysox home game. We saw a lot of welcoming familiar faces from the Baysox staff, as well as the fans and season ticket holders who come out to support this event. Unfortunately, the weather was not as supportive, with a cold, steady rain and chilling winds lasting through most of the day.   Star Wars Night with the Bowie Baysox

  It may have been over 46 years since Star Wars hit the silver screen, but the cultural impact of that sci-fi blockbuster saga is clearly alive and well generations later, as the Bowie Baysox held its annual Star Wars Night Saturday, June 3rd, at Prince George's Stadium. As part of our partnership with the Orioles' AA affiliate, our Patient First table was set up right outside the First Aid station during this, one of the team's most well-attended games of the year, as the Baysox took on the Harrisburg Senators. There were professional cosplayers on hand for photos with the fans, many of whom came in costumes of their own. In addition, there were Star Wars themed events in between innings featuring music and video presentations, and light saber duels. Our table was well-received by the fans, who told us wonderful things about our centers, our services, and our staff. The patients we spoke to came from as far north as Aberdeen and as far south as Waldorf. Unfortunately, the Force was not with the Baysox that night, as the team lost 13-4. ...

  Bowie Baysox Family Fun Fest

  Play Ball! It was a chilly and blustery day, but that wind carried with it the promise of the return of the boys of summer, at this year's Bowie Baysox Family Fun Fest! About 12 hundred people flocked to Prince George's County Stadium in Bowie for a day of fun, games, and anticipation for the 2022 Bowie Baysox season. There were even appearances from team mascots Louie from Bowie, and the Oriole Bird! Patient First, which staffs and supports the First Aid station at each and every home game, participated in the event welcoming families and fans, and providing information and materials, illustrating our continued commitment to the community. Good luck to the Baysox, as we look forward to a fun-filled and successful season!

  Community Partners: Nitrauer Elementary School

  Every year, Patient First selects two elementary schools near each of its 77 centers as a community partner in an effort to further support the health and growth of neighborhood it serves. Our partnership begins with a donation to the school to fund projects or programs that directly benefit the students of each of our partner schools, but it doesn't end there. We continue to engage with the faculty, students and parents at each of these schools through community events like back-to-school nights, family resource nights, health and wellness fairs, school fun runs, and even fall and spring festivals. This week, we are showcasing Nitrauer Elementary as our Partner School of the Week. Located just minutes from our Lancaster center, Nitrauer has been a committed partner with Patient First for several years. This year, Patient First will be helping Nitrauer Elementary fund student assemblies, and a program of lunches recognizing good student behavior, culminating in a recognition of outstanding students for each quarter.
