Rula, Charles - M.D. Staff Physician Schedule Dr. Rula joined Patient First in 1996.  A graduate of the University of Virginia, he earned his M.D. degree from the Medical College of Virginia in 1973.  Dr. Rula completed a residency program in General Surgery and a fellowship in Orthopedic Surgery before working in emergency medicine for nineteen years.  He joined the General Booth team as a staff physician in 1996 before assuming the Medical Directorship at the Newtown center in 1998.  Dr. Rula revisited emergency medicine in 2001, before returning to Patient First at the Short Pump center in 2006.  Dr. Rula is board certified in Emergency Medicine.
