Dr. Murphy has been a member of the Woodman physician team since August of 1998.  An alumnus of Brooklyn College, he graduated from the Universidad Tecnologica de Santiago School of Medicine in 1984 and completed his residency in family practice at Franklin Regional Medical Center, Franklin, Pennsylvania, in 1988.  He joined a private practice in Roanoke, Virginia, in 1988, where he stayed until he and his family moved to the Richmond area in 1992.  He served as an emergency room physician until accepting the position of Vice Chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Richmond Memorial Hospital in 1994.  He joined Patient First in 1998.  Dr. Murphy is certified by the American Board of  Family Medicine.
