Staff Physician
Dr. Athwal is the medical director for the Patient First located in Sterling, Virginia. He joined Patient First as a staff physician at the Leesburg center in 2010. A 1998 undergraduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he earned his M.D. degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in 2005. He completed his internship and residency in family practice at Western Reserve Care System/NEOUCOM program at Northside Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio in 2010. Prior to residency, Dr. Athwal worked as an Associate Medical Director in the pharmaceutical industry. Dr. Athwal is a member for the American Academy of Family physicians and is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
